Circa 1921. The eyes speak of weariness, if not downright distrust. The mouth shows a great possibility of stubbornness. Yet, somewhere in this face lurks an expression of warm- heartedness and humanity. "Hopi" means "the peaceful people". They were peaceful but could be fierce fighters when invaders tried to steal from them.

I have the drips surrounding his face to represent his stubbornness of accepting the new world order. Although the drips blend into the image, he is saying: "I will survive".
